DJ O'Neil | CEO | Creative Director
D.J. founded Hub Strategy & Communication in the summer of 2002 with the aim of helping clients achieve a much-talked-about, but hard-to-reach goal - true integrated marketing. At Hub, D.J. oversees the brand and creative development efforts for all clients as well as directing much of the television work. Clients served include Google, Nike, the Oakland A's, Levi's, Microsoft, Sony Playstation, Slingbox, MacGregor Golf, Tesla Motors, Sega of America, Konami, and Lombardi Sports. Since 2002, Hub has won hundreds of creative awards across the full range of marketing channels including website design, television, rich media, radio, package design, outdoor and web viral.
D.J. was an adjunct professor of integrated marketing and advertising at both graduate and undergraduate levels at the University of San Francisco for 3 years. He has been published in Advertising Age, has served on the Board of Directors of the Young Entrepreneurs Organization (YEO) and has directed more than 50 television spots, animated videos and short documentaries.
Previously, D.J. co-founded Seidel O'Neil & Partners Advertising in 1995, where he worked for seven years as Co-President. There, he developed and managed work for clients including 24 Hour Fitness, Mindspring, Earthlink, Listen.com, Storehouse Furniture, and Lombardi Sports.
D.J. has a B.A. in Communication from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He is forty-five years old, married and the father of two young girls. His interests include surfing, fly-fishing, sailing, scuba diving, out-of-the-way travel, and painting.
Annalyn Duke | Director of Account Management I Partner
Annalyn is the newest addition to Hub, joining officially as of August 1st to run the Account Management group.
Annalyn has spent the last 18 years building and implementing marketing programs for some of the world¹s biggest brands. Programs with award-winning creative and goal-surpassing sales figures, for clients like Apple, Sprint, Crystal Geyser, QUALCOMM, Timbuk2, AARP, Mondavi, and too many other wine brands to mention (yep, lots of wine tasting was in order).
Managing accounts within a roster of leading agencies, like Hal Riney, J Walter Thompson, Maiden Lane and Arnold, her last two stops have been as head of Account Management and Brand Strategy. Besides the basic project management skills that surprisingly few seem to get right Annalyn loves the creative process, which makes her such a great fit with Hub.
When Annalyn isn¹t working, she¹s happily chasing her two young boys around, or...sleeping.
Peter Judd | CD | Director of Design
Peter joined Hub in 2006 as Design Director bringing with him well-acclaimed talent along with an ability to get the best work from those he leads. Peter is charged with directing every piece of visual communication that Hub produces.
Prior to joining Hub, Peter was at Carol H. Williams creating work for the booming, urban, 18-25 year old consumer. His re-branding effort (including logo design, print, TV, and interactive) for Pop Secret popcorn was featured in U.S. Ad Review and is still being implemented, through General Mills, on packaging, in movie theaters and in supermarkets. In addition, his work for Coors Light, General Motors and Allstate received many accolades.
Peter is a pathetic slave to fashion and his love of design has manifested itself in the fashion world. He has designed everything from t-shirts to wedding dresses to jewelry.
Peter graduated from Syracuse University in 1994 with a degree in Advertising Design. Immediately upon leaving Syracuse he moved to San Francisco and has spent his entire career in the Bay Area doing both traditional advertising and graphic design. He has worked at shops as big as Arnold Worldwide, where he was an Associate Creative Director, to tiny, one-person design studios. He has worked on everything from beer to bondage to biotech.
When Peter is not working he is rearranging the piles of art books, stacks of vinyl and the vintage modern furniture that fill his San Francisco apartment.

Jason Rothman | Associate Creative Director
Jason began his relationship with Hub in early 2007. His design sensibility and thinking was welcomed with open arms and they have been madly in love ever since. Before arriving at Hub, Jason was a designer at Nickelodeon in New York. After almost six years at Nick, Jason felt the pull of the west coast and dropped it all to move to San Francisco to pursue his dreams of designing in the cold and foggy sunshine. When not at Hub, Jason enjoys eating out and purchasing expensive design books and vintage modern furniture. Education-wise, Jason earned a degree in marketing/advertising from the University of Pittsburgh followed by design studies at both Parsons School of Design and the School of Visual Arts.
Jen Hartford | Designer
Jen joined Hub in 2010 after being a core member of Hub's freelance design roster for over a year. Jen brings the ability to work across several different mediums, from flash design and stop motion to wood working, she welcomes every design challenge.
Jen's first project for Hub was a logo design for Book Moments, which went on to earn an SF Addy Award. From that point on Jen's relationship with Hub continued to grow. She worked with Hub to create designs for Levi's, Dockers, Microsoft, and Google, just to name a few.
Prior to joining Hub, Jen designed for Sportgenic, Wowd, Del Monte, and acted as lead designer for Espostos Catering and The Phoenix Supper Club, a roaming underground restaurant.
Jen received her BFA from the University of San Francisco. She also studied photography and printmaking at the Studio Art Center International in Florence, Italy. Jen is most known for her expertise in logo design, web design, and innovative creative concepting and ideation.
When Jen is not designing you can find her traveling the world, racing the trails of San Francisco, or sifting through piles of books at the SF library.
Leona Frey | Copywriter
Leona joined the Hub team in January 2010 as Office Manager and assistant to DJ O'Neil. Since joining Hub, Leona has been responsible for laying down the office law.
Leona got her first taste of the advertising world from her internship at TBWA/Chiat/Day before graduating from UC Berkeley in 2009 with a BA in Media Studies. When Leona isn't at Hub she enjoys short walks on the beach and living everyday like it's her last - sobbing uncontrollably and calling her loved ones.

Peter Shumar (Shu)

Meghan Raab | Account Coordinator
Meghan came to Hub in July of 2011 after a six-month stint as a public relations intern. Although she enjoyed working with clients like Hidden Valley Ranch dressings, the Clorox Family of Toilet Products and Black Box Wines, she realized she was better suited for a creative agency. Her experiences in television production, writing and journalism founded her passion for and understanding of creative industries. She loves working with clients and creatives alike to produce high-quality, imaginative products that make everyone smile. She hopes to grow within the advertising industry and, a poet at heart, Meghan plans to publish a collection of poetry. (Or two, or three…)
Meghan graduated from the University of San Francisco last year, earning a B.A. in English/Creative Writing and minors in Journalism and Media Studies. In her free time, you can find Meghan writing, tap dancing and scouring Etsy for vintage wears. And if it’s snowing, she’s probably bombing down a mountain somewhere in Tahoe.
Jeremy Cook | Account Manager
Jeremy joined Hub as an Account Manager in the summer of 2011. He previously managed and produced everything from websites and trailers to TV spots and Blu-ray interactive features.

He managed campaigns and produced material for movies such as Knocked Up and Star Trek. He graduated from Loyola University of New Orleans, where he studied Communication and Computer Information Systems. When he is not obsessed with his job, he loves to travel, watch sports (and talk too much about it) and eat really good food.
Peter Shumar (Shu) | Director of Technology
With 13 years of experience in technology, Shu’s the guy people come to for answers and to fix issues no one else can. He’s been a designer and a programmer and has that je ne sais quoi that other developers only wish they had. Shu has worked on projects for Grand Banks Yachts, PGA Tour Experiences, Hilton Hotels, Fox Interactive, and Mercedes to name a few.
Shu has a BFA in kinetics from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and has studied at L’ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, France. When not at Hub, Shu enjoys time with his family, cooking, surfing, and racing sailboats.
