Sling Media is a digital lifestyle products company, focused on creating empowering entertainment experiences for consumers. Sling Media's award winning Slingbox turns any Internet-connected PC, Mac, or mobile device into your home television allowing you to watch your TV virtually anywhere in the world. The Sling Entertainment Group is a division of Sling Media and will deliver new applications and services enabled by the Slingbox's marriage of familiar TV programming and richly interactive web-connected devices.
The Executive Producer is responsible for the day-to-day management and planning of large-scale multi-platform projects, from inception to completion, as well as high-level management of the Production team. The Executive Producer works closely with the Editorial Director, maintaining a detailed project timeline for all projects running through the Production team. The Executive Producer manages the Production team to execute on the goals of the clients and company as defined by Senior Management. This role is responsible for communicating the teams overall status on projects and initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Guide the Production team in developing skills such as creative thinking, scoping, efficient problem solving, presentation and communication.
- Execute performance reviews and training.
- Work with Senior Management in scheduling projects, estimating budget/resources, and scope.
- Manage interactive projects with a media focus, specifically the high-profile intricate multi-platform executions within the Sling Media Entertainment Group.
- Create and maintain thorough project roadmap (including scoping documentation, production schedule, SOW, sitemap, and wireframe deck)
- Manage the Web/Associate Producers assigned to each project and work with team leads to maintain daily progress.
- Manage interdisciplinary team assigned to key projects.
- Contribute to project kick-off meetings and subsequent status meetings with project team, working closely with Project Manager to maintain accurate schedules.
- Adhere to tech specs, development standards and best practices within inter-disciplinary project team.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 8 years web development/project management experience (preferably media focused).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as ability to present and explain technical information
- Experience with requirements gathering, spec writing, design and development tools/technologies, and QA.
- Prior CMS experience a plus.
- Visio/Graffle, MS Project, HTML skills
- Experience managing a department or team.
- Ability to inspire creativity, innovative thinking and motivate team members.
